3 new items in my shop!

I'm so happy to announce that I have 3 new products available in my shop!

First off, new Holiday cards with room for a photo! It's always fun to include a photo with your holiday greeting, and this new card allows you to do just that. You'll get Pretty Smitten style...a little sparkle from our signature Swarovski crystal, your pick of holiday motif and the ability to personalize them with your choice of colors, font and text. We leave room for you to simply attach a 2x3" wallet size photo (double sided tape works great). Return address labels and coordinating colored envelopes are also included. Happy Holidays!

And also new in our shop? Our alphabet note card series! I love our Pretty Smitten Alphabet Prints and just wanted to do more with my favorite 26 letters! In this series, each letter is paired with one of our favorite motifs. And then you have two options...in our Personalized Alphabet Note Cards, you pick one letter, add a personalized name and customize them with your choice of colors and font. In the second option, you get the entire alphabet! Both make adorable stationery for any little one, mommy or mommy to-be.

Pretty Smitten with Etsy shop Olive

Hello and Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. A while back I was catching up on my blog reading and cruising through OhDeeDoh...what did I find? Etsy seller Olive and her fantastic house pillows!! Love love love them. We have a large playroom upstairs and I'm always on the lookout for unique and fun decorative items. These are PERFECT! Finally getting around the sharing them with you, hope you love them as much as I do...and how cute is the one below with the Christmas lights??

Pretty Smitten Print on Spearmint Baby!

I received an email from a recent buyer, Carly, who had purchased a You Are My Sunshine print from my shop. Her nursery was featured on Spearmint Baby and my little print made the cut in her beautiful collection of pictures! She has created an amazing nursery for her daughter. I love the wall treatment!! In her own words, here's how she did it...."semi gloss paint (wall is in flat paint so the semi gloss stands out) in white - photocopied the pattern from the bedding onto clear sheet, then used a projector to project it onto the wall and then painted it in." Now that's some great DIY. The blue is Sherwin Williams Bouyant Blue. My other favorite part? Her hair clip holder from Etsy seller candicenkatiesart. Enjoy!

J Crew - Fall Fashion Finds

I'm a J Crew girl. It's my go-to place for chic little pieces that are easy to throw on, look good, and wear with an 11 month old in tow. Here are some of my favorites for fall....

Kelsey Ruffle Top in cinnamon spice

LOVE THIS. I have a similar top from JCrew with ruffles at top in a pretty light pool color and I wear it all the time. This one would be a great fall option. Layer it under cardigans and blazers or wear alone for date night with hubby!

Stadium-cloth Winne Jacket in navy

Such a cute alternative to the longer coats. Throw is on and you're ready to go. Love the yellow option too, but navy is classic and I know I'd wear it all the time!

Ankle Stretch Toothpick Jean in twilight wash

I have the JCrew Minnie pants and they are such a great fit. I imagine these are too! Wonderful with flats or heels. And how easy would it to be to pull on a pair of boots over them? No worries about stuffing in the pant leg.

Vivi Printed Ballet Flats in champagne

Okay I love heels. But lets face it, I wear flats pretty much everyday. That doesn't mean I can't have cute flats though! Love these modern yet classic ones. Would go great with the above mentioned toothpick jeans and Minnie pants!

My son is getting over the 'pulling on Mommy's earrings' stage and I've started wearing hoops and dangly earrings again. Hooray! I want to celebrate with a pair of these!

Duchess Stone Necklace in soft pumpkin

Necklaces still interest my son, but they don't come with the danger of ripping Mommy's earlobe off so I still wear them! Besides, they can provide some much needed entertainment in the grocery store line.

I love Fall!

On Saturday we went up to Apple Hill with my parents to do a little pumpkin picking! I don't often share personal photos on this blog, but after downloading the photos this morning I just had to post a few. Some of the places at Apple Hill can be crowded and touristy, but we found Cardinnini pumpkin patch and it was completely idyllic! We put Owen in a wagon and set off to find our pumpkin. I just love how his little hands held onto the side. He definitely loved the ride. We found a couple pumpkins and just had fun enjoying the beautiful outdoors!

Pretty Smitten with Pixie Dust

My husband is on a business trip for a couple of days so the other evening after I put my little guy to bed, I sat down on the couch with a glass of wine in hand and did one of my favorite things....click, click, clicked my way through the internet to see what I could find! And what did I find? Pixie Dust!! Pixie Dust Decor is a textile and children's decor design studio. On their site you can find the sweetest crib bedding, bibs and blankets. My favorite though? The poufs and tuffets! They just look so fantastic to keep in the nursery or playroom. Great little lounging pillows to snuggle up with your little one and his or her favorite book. Fabrics are sold by the yard and there's even a custom shop, so the options are endless! Definitely Smitten with Pixie Dust!

Customized Cupcake Cars!! Too funny, what will they come up with next? We watch the Today Show for about an hour every morning while we get our morning tasks done and this morning they had a segment on Neiman Marcus' 2009 Holiday Catalog. Okay, so I'll I need is 25k and I'll be cruising through my neighborhood looking like a huge cupcake. I'm thinking I'd have to go all out girly and get the pink one!

OKL Find - Natural Curiosities

Good morning all! Survived the big storm and waking up to a cloudy morning but no rain. Just a very wet backyard. Just browsing through my favorite morning emails and here's another find from One Kings Lane....prints from Natural Curiosities! This Los Angeles

The storm has hit!

Okay the weather guys weren't kidding, we really are in for a storm! It's raining like mad and the wind is whipping around like crazy out there. Good thing I brought in our patio umbrella, I'm pretty sure if I hadn't it would be in the neighbors yard. But I love it, we don't get that many real stormy days around here and it's a great chance to stay cozy indoors all day.

So the Mac n' Cheese last night? Well I chose the John Legend's Macaroni and Cheese from Martha Stewart mainly because I had most of the ingredients and the prep was easy. I substituted whole wheat penne for the elbow macaroni but other then that followed the directions exactly. To be honest? Thought it was a little runny. Maybe a little less liquid next time? Or the whole wheat pasta doesn't soak it up as much? It sure is easy though and deserves another shot. Meant to take pictures but in the last minute scramble to get dinner on the table didn't have a chance. Bad blogger! Sorry folks, next time I promise.

Monday with Martha...ready for some comfort food!

Here in Northern CA we are expecting our first big storm of the season...it's cloudy and cold today and tomorrow comes the wind and rain! Now I'm sure it's nothing like what other parts of the country experience, but for us, it's a storm! Snow is expected in nearby Tahoe and I love it. So what do I want for dinner tonight? Comfort food! Something warm and yummy. Macaroni and cheese fits the bill so I turned to Martha for a recipe....

Monday with Martha...Halloween ideas

Amazingly enough, we are in October already and over here at the Johnson house we are gearing up for our first Halloween with our little guy. Last year at this time I was VERY pregnant so didn't participate too much in the Halloween festivities! Not this year though...Owen has his Halloween costume all ready to go (Dalmation puppy costume from Pottery Barn Kids) and we are starting to put up our fall decorations. So who do I look to for some inspiration? Martha of course! As you can tell from my Halloween invitations, cupcake toppers and favor tags in my shop, I'm not one for too dark and spooky. So here are some of my Martha favorites from her more adorable side ...

I saw these animal pumpkins in an issue of Martha Stewart Living long ago, and what do you know they are still featured on her website too. Looks to me that it would take a week to create, I have the time for that right??? But I love them! So cute and fun.
